About the Role

We are looking for a Manager, Media Control Center that will manage all inbound transmission, outbound distribution and monitoring for all linear and digital platforms. This role works closely with Fox Sports, Entertainment, and News teams to innovate and test new distribution solutions.

The Manager, Media Control Center is part of the Media Operations and Distribution team, which is responsible for delivering a high-quality viewer experience to millions of viewers across Fox networks, digital platforms, mobile applications, websites, and licensing partnerships. Media Control Center Operation

  • Manages all inbound contribution and outbound distribution activities
  • Creates process and procedures to ensure reliable transmission operation
  • Actively engages and quickly escalates transmission outages, malfunctions, and technical issues
  • Oversees the configuration and troubleshooting of all transmission systems to ensure maximum reliability

  • Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Supports Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery teams
  • Helps build new technology solutions together with the engineering team
  • Partners with the Engineering Operations team to troubleshoot and resolve issues when things go awry
  • Teams up with other Media Operations teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Performance Improvement

  • Promotes the use of data to make business decisions
  • Tracks operations dashboards and constantly looks for ways to make things works better, faster, and smoother
  • Prioritizes the use of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to motivate the team

  • People Management & Development

  • Inspires a culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies
  • Sponsors career development programs to retain top talent
  • Builds and motivates high performing teams to deliver high quality products

    Level & Role Specific Qualifications

  • 2+ years managing teams
  • Experience with media operations and technical transmission systems

  • General Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of Media Supply Chain, Video on Demand (VOD), and Over the Top (OTT) Systems
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
  • Ability to translate and communicate business requirements into operational and technical requirements

  • Preferred Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is awesome, but not required
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as 4K High Dynamic Range, and HDR10+ is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE)
