The Scheduler must be a highly energetic, independent and professional individual with strong interpersonal communication skills. Following established departmental and hospital procedures the Scheduler is responsible for coordinating the patient scheduling activities for all the on-site and off-site sections in the Department of Radiology, as well as working closely with the referring physician offices to coordinate the scheduling of patient procedures. In doing so, the Scheduler maintains the highest possible level of communication to achieve quality care. Performs all clerical, and patient confirmation functions necessary for the complete and efficient scheduling of patient exams and procedures.
Extensive experience and formal course work in medical terminology and office procedure generally acquired through medical secretarial course/school beyond High School, equal to two (2) years of college scholastic preparation.
Two (2) to three (3) years of medical office or clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
